Privacy Policy
This policy explains how handles information when you use Save Words, the Save Words mobile applications, this website, support forms, and related backend services.
Information we process
- Account and authentication data: Firebase identifier, email address, display name, avatar URL, sign-in provider, email-verification state, and authentication timestamps.
- Word activity: submitted words, selected source and explanation languages, lookup history, generated explanations, and usage counts.
- Your library: saved words, favorites, personal notes, optional source details, collections, and collection memberships.
- AI operations: the word and selected languages needed to generate an explanation, plus limited provider/model, token, cost, latency, and result-status logs. Provider API credentials are not user data and are not exposed to the app.
- Subscriptions: platform, product and plan identifiers, entitlement state, expiry and renewal state, test/production environment, and minimum pseudonymous transaction or provider-event references needed for verification and reconciliation. Save Words does not receive your full payment-card details.
- Support and deletion requests: category, name, email, subject, message, request state, timestamps, and hashed network address used for abuse prevention.
- Diagnostics: app crash and technical diagnostic information through Firebase Crashlytics when collection is enabled, plus limited server request and error logs. The mobile project includes notification compatibility components, but the current Save Words backend does not store device push tokens for marketing notifications.
How we use information
We use this information to authenticate accounts, generate and retrieve word explanations, maintain personal libraries and collections, enforce free and Premium limits, verify store purchases, restore entitlements, prevent abuse, answer support requests, diagnose failures, secure the service, and comply with applicable obligations.
AI processing
A word and the selected language context are sent to the configured AI provider to generate an explanation. Do not submit passwords, payment data, confidential personal information, or other sensitive content as a lookup. Generated content can be inaccurate and should be independently checked when important.
Service providers
Save Words uses service providers for Firebase Authentication and Crashlytics, AI generation, Apple App Store and Google Play subscription verification, infrastructure hosting, email delivery, and operational logging. Each provider processes data for its relevant function under its own terms and safeguards.
Retention
Account data and user-owned word data are kept while the account is active and are removed through the verified deletion process. Shared word-explanation cache entries may remain because they are not owned by one account. Daily server logs are configured for limited rotation. Processed or ignored store notification events are routinely eligible for pruning after 30 days and failed events after 90 days. Minimum pseudonymized subscription records may be retained longer where reasonably necessary for reconciliation, fraud prevention, security, dispute handling, or legal obligations. Support records are retained only as needed to handle and document the request.
Account deletion
You can start deletion from the app or from the public account deletion page. The verified process deletes the Firebase profile, saved words, personal notes, favorites, collections, lookup history, user-specific AI usage records, and usage counters. It removes the account link from limited support, subscription, and provider records that must remain. Shared explanations are not deleted solely because one user account is removed.
Deleting a Save Words account does not automatically cancel an Apple App Store or Google Play subscription. Manage or cancel the subscription in the store account used for purchase.
Security and choices
We use access controls, encrypted sensitive fields, hashed abuse-prevention identifiers, bounded public forms, and separated public, API, and admin surfaces. No internet service can guarantee absolute security. You may request support, ask a privacy question, or delete your account using the links below.
Children
Save Words is a general-audience vocabulary tool and is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law. A parent or guardian with a concern can contact us.
